Important Notice on  Tax Exemption For Senior Citizens

*Why did I receive this postcard? Recent NYS legislation changes in December mandated we send a notice to all real property in the county that might be owned by someone that could meet eligibility for this exemption, but due to the short time window we lacked complete demographic data to only target this to owners’ 65+ and “covered all the bases” by sending it to all residential properties in each community.

*Does receiving this mean I’m eligible for the exemption? Not necessarily, the age and income requirements are printed on the postcard, but your local assessor is always the best resource to answer eligibility questions. In the event you can’t reach your assessor, the County’s Real Property Office is happy to answer any questions they’re able to and they can be reached at 315-349-8315.

*I already receive the exemption, does receiving this postcard mean my renewal application wasn’t received? No, this was a bulk mailing to all residential properties about the existence and availability of the exemption. If you received a renewal letter from your assessor and already sent it back no further action is necessary in order to renew your exemption.

Please click on the link, completed forms, mail in with proof of age & income.  All necessary paperwork/Documents must be received by March 1st
